Welcome to Mongolia! Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel. After some time to rest and freshen up, begin your introduction to Mongolia with a visit to Sukhbaatar Square, the central square of Ulaanbaatar, surrounded by important government and cultural buildings. Continue to the Chinggis Khan National Museum, where you can learn about Mongolia’s long history, the rise of the Mongol Empire, the life and legacy of Chinggis Khan, and the development of Mongolian culture and civilization. Return to the hotel and enjoy a free evening to relax after your journey.

After breakfast, drive to the Chinggis Khan Statue Complex, one of Mongolia’s most impressive landmarks. The enormous statue depicts Chinggis Khan on horseback and offers panoramic views over the surrounding steppe. Continue to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, famous for its spectacular granite rock formations, forested mountains, and open valleys. Visit Aryabal Meditation Temple, located among the mountains, and enjoy a peaceful walk through the surrounding landscape. Later, visit the famous Turtle Rock, a natural granite formation resembling a giant turtle. Take time to explore the area and enjoy the beautiful scenery before returning to your accommodation.

Travel south toward the Gobi region and explore Baga Gazriin Chuluu, a spectacular area of granite mountains rising dramatically from the surrounding steppe. Walk among the unusual rock formations and discover the natural and cultural features of the area. The peaceful landscape provides excellent opportunities for photography and experiencing Mongolia’s vast open spaces.

Continue toward Tsagaan Suvarga (White Stupa), one of the most remarkable geological formations in the Gobi. The colorful cliffs, shaped by millions of years of erosion, resemble the ruins of an ancient city when viewed from a distance. Explore the surrounding area and enjoy spectacular views of the layered cliffs and desert landscape. Continue to Del Mountain, where you can discover ancient rock paintings that provide a glimpse into the lives and beliefs of people who lived in this region thousands of years ago.

Today, enter Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park and explore Yol Valley, one of the most beautiful areas of the Gobi Desert. Enjoy a hike through the dramatic mountain valley, surrounded by rugged cliffs and desert scenery. Depending on the season, remnants of ice may still be found in the narrowest sections of the valley. Keep an eye out for wildlife and birds while enjoying the peaceful contrast between the rocky mountains and the surrounding desert.

Today’s journey takes you to the spectacular Khongor Sand Dunes, known as the “Singing Sands.” The enormous dunes stretch across the Gobi landscape, creating one of Mongolia’s most iconic natural sights. Climb the dunes to enjoy breathtaking views across the desert. You will also have the opportunity to experience camel riding and learn more about the traditional role of camels in Gobi nomadic life. Spend the evening enjoying the peaceful desert atmosphere and, weather permitting, a beautiful sunset over the dunes.

Continue your journey to Bayanzag, famously known as the Flaming Cliffs. The area is renowned for its spectacular red sandstone cliffs and its important paleontological discoveries, including dinosaur fossils and eggs. Visit the Bayanzag Museum to learn more about the region’s geological and paleontological significance. Afterward, continue toward the Ongi region and visit the remains of Ongi Monastery, one of the important historical Buddhist monastery sites in southern Mongolia. Explore the ruins and learn about the history of Buddhism in Mongolia.

Today, travel toward Karakorum, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire established in the 13th century. Visit Erdene Zuu Monastery, one of Mongolia’s oldest surviving Buddhist monasteries. Explore the monastery complex and its impressive walls, stupas, temples, and religious artwork. Continue exploring the historical area of Karakorum and learn about its importance during the time of the Mongol Empire.

Continue to Tsetserleg, the picturesque capital of Arkhangai Province, surrounded by the mountains of the Khangai range. Continue toward Khorgo Volcano, an extinct volcanic cone surrounded by dramatic lava formations and beautiful mountain scenery. Later, arrive at Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake, one of Mongolia’s most beautiful freshwater lakes. Enjoy the peaceful lakeshore scenery and views of the surrounding volcanic landscape.

Today is dedicated to exploring the unique culture and lifestyle of the Tsaatan reindeer herders. Meet a Tsaatan family and learn about their traditional way of life, their relationship with reindeer, and their unique cultural traditions. Guests may have the opportunity to see the reindeer up close, take photographs, and experience aspects of daily life in the taiga. Later, enjoy a gentle hike along the shores of Khuvsgul Lake, surrounded by clear blue water, pine forests, and mountain scenery.

During the excursion in the countryside, you will stay in a Tourist Ger camp, which is a kind of hotel that serves customers with a ger (yurt) instead of a hotel room and is always located at the best viewing spot. It is the most popular accommodation type for a countryside trip in Mongolia and consists of 30–40 yurts, a restaurant and facilities. Most visitors are happy to stay in a ger, which provides an authentic taste of Mongolian culture and adventure, their most enjoyable experience in Mongolia.
During your trip in Mongolia, you will be served mainly European dishes and sometimes authentic Mongolian foods. Lunch and dinner consist of 3–4 courses (soup and/or salad, main course, dessert) and bottled water.
If you require special meals due to religious or medical limitations, or vegetarian food, please inform us so that arrangements can be made in advance.
Car: A good car is an important part of your comfortable trip in Mongolia. There will be a good 4×4 car for this trip based on the number of people in your group.
Road: The asphalted roads are 40% and the unpaved roads are 60%.
During the trip, it takes approximately 2–6 hours of driving (80–280 km) from one destination to the next, depending on road and weather conditions on each driving day. This is not a nonstop drive! We can take frequent short stops along the road for photographs, toilets, stretching and meeting local nomads.

Hiking boots and sandals, waterproof jacket, raincoat, umbrella, sunglasses, hat, comfortable shoes, insect repellent, sunscreen and prescription medication (if required).
Gear: Camera, binoculars, flashlight and travel lamp. Some Tourist camps do not have 24-hour electricity. It is therefore recommended to bring your own travel lamp!
